1. Your eyes are typically closed.
During most types of meditation, your eyes are supposed to be closed to help you focus. If your eyes are closed while meditating, then all of the other distractions going on in the room or space around you will not be seen. So, by concentrating more on the meditation having your eyes closed, you will be increasing all of your focus to your thoughts.
2. Your hands are free
By having your hands free during your meditation session, now not only do your eyes not have distractions, but neither do your hands. Think if you held a ball in your hand and tried to concentrate on something different, most likely you will fail concentrating on what you’re doing and only be concentrating on the ball in your hand. With your hands free, and eyes closed you will only be focusing on your thoughts, leaving everything else oblivious.
3. Concentrate on breathing.
This is very important in meditation. When you are focusing on only when you breathe in and out, you will find yourself concentrating so hard on breathing, that you will not have time to let your mind wander off on a different subject. Also concentrating on your breathing will also calm your personal state as well, helping you to concentrate better after the meditation session is finished.
